CoSA STUDENTS PERFORM KINGSTON TRIO Music!
During their Spring Recital on March 19, talented students in the Instrumental Music Department at the Coronado School of the Arts performed pieces ranging from classical to jazz, piano to electric bass. These included virtuoso solo performances, jazzy numbers, and chamber groups. And to the delight of an overflowing audience, the young musicians also reprised four popular Kingston Trio numbers as the "grand finale" of the recital! The students had been working for weeks with Artist-in-Residence Joey Harris (former member of the Beat Farmers and nephew of Trio member Nick Reynolds) and CoSA's Instrumental Music Director Matt Heinecke, who both performed KT songs with them.
This CoSA performance was in conjunction with CHA's current museum exhibit, Kingston Trio: A World of Music, and was made possible with special funding from Leslie Reynolds and the Kingston Trio Legacy Project.
