This doesn’t necessarily mean you should only enter draws for big prizes such as cars or holidays – it just means that if you’re really not that bothered about a full new set of kitchen pans, don’t waste your time entering that competition.


However, don’t forget that a prize that you don’t like can be sold on for a profit!


Begin with the Big Name Brands The sceptics amongst you will probably be thinking that comping is a bit of a scam. Is someone really going to give you a car, just for filling in a piece of paper?


Well, the industry is quite heavily regulated these days, so companies just can’t get away with being dishonest. To make sure they’re genuine though, stick to the big name brand competitions to start with.


Top tips for Winning Competitions It goes without saying really, but if you haven’t entered, you definitely won’t win! So don’t expect to win much if you’re just entering the odd competition here and there. The chances are that you won’t get lucky.


But if you’re regularly entering different draws, you’re increasing your chances massively. Put aside at least an hour or so once a week for entering, and assess how well you’re doing after a few months.
