the METT countries (Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Turkey), although Turkey will probably be too cool in the few resorts that are open year round. All are safe to travel to and have lots to offer the holidaymaker. Morocco has warm temperatures by day, cool at nights and gives you an exotic style of holiday. The main beach resort is Agadir at around three-and-a- half hours’ flight from around the UK. Most people take all inclusive holidays and you can find one-week deals from around £299. Tunisia offers similar prices and sun, and is wel- coming back holidaymakers to its sandy beaches after the troubles earlier this year. Egypt is, of course, an excellent choice with warm
sunny days, great water sports and diving in the Red Sea resorts or world class sightseeing in the Nile re- sorts of Luxor and Aswan. Prices are a little higher than Morocco, reflecting the longer flying time. Standards are high and the welcome to Brits is very warm. Staying in the Middle East, Dubai in the United
Arab Emirates offers some excellent pricing and direct non-stop flights with Emirates from all over the UK. Go shopping in the malls and souks, try out many watersports and stay in luxurious hotels at great prices. More expensive options can be found in Abu Dhabi and Oman. Thailand is also another winter classic with Brits. Combine Bangkok with one of the many beach resorts such as Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Samui and Krabi for beautifully warm days in the sun and exciting evenings in the restaurants and bars. Other areas you may want to consider are Goa in India and the Maldives or maybe the Gambia all of which have excellent winter sun records and great value all-inclusive options for holidaymakers.
