Sunshine & Rainbows & Ribbons for Hair Bows…

….every once in a while a new product launches into the crowded children’s toy market that you instinctively know is right and when we heard about the new, award winning LottieTM UK designers Arklu, we had to find out more

doll from L 10 WWW.MUMSSURVIVALGUIDES.CO.UK

ottie™ is a new, innovative, award- winning fashion doll for girls aged 3- 9. The key point of difference from other fashion dolls is that Lottie’s body is ‘childlike’; addressing key parental con- cerns about premature sexualisation,

body image and girls losing out on their childhood. Her dimensions (with the exception of her head) are based upon those devised by leading British scientific academics to reflect the average proportions on a nine year old girl. Lottie doesn’t wear scanty clothes, high heels, jewellery, tattoos or makeup; these are girl dolls intended for girls. Lottie’s motto is ‘Be bold, be brave, be you’.

Put simply, Lottie has been designed as a nine

year old girl without any teen or glamour agenda and her six styles ( please see page opposite) offer a lifestyle of outdoor play and activity. She is flexible and easy to pose and girls love her incredibly strokable hair that doesn’t tangle easily. Her high quality clothes and accessories are detailed and feel wonderful to the touch. LottieTM

is made in her image

and not that of an older teenage sister or worse still, the latest tabloid soap starlet or WAG – LottieTM suggests maximum creativity and imagination. But don’t just take our word for it, this is what the

experts are saying:

“I welcome this venture which will enable parents to provide their kids with dolls created with positive body image in mind, and the message that it’s not all about looks.”

Jo Swinson MP Co-founder of the Campaign for Body Confidence

“It’s great to see a doll for this age range who is appropriate in terms of body shape and clothing, and who looks active and fun!”
