Fyne victories Inveraray-based Loch Fyne Whiskies won both the
retail shop and online outlet categories in Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky Scotland 2013 awards. This is the fi rst time the retailer has achieved success in both categories of the awards, which were estab- lished in 2002.

Enterprising spirit Tullibardine Distillery in Blackford, near Auchterarder, has
linked up with Celtic Renewables to use waste material from the whisky-making process to produce butanol, which can be used to power motor vehicles. This is helping to change the current trend of making biofuel in the developing world and taking food from the mouths of the world’s poorest people. Tullibardine and Celtic Renewables have signed a memorandum of understanding and will apply the process to thousands of tonnes of the distillery’s leftovers.
Whisky galore Ian Macleod Distillers has un-
veiled its new range of Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The repackaged and enhanced collection includes the 10yo, 12yo and 21yo, as well as three new malts – a new premium Glengoyne 15yo; a cask strength expression to replace the current 12yo cask strength; and an 18yo to replace the 17yo. Each of these new expressions has been crafted from some of the fi nest sherry casks within Glengoyne’s warehouses. RRP ranges from £46.99 for the cask strength, £47.99 for the 15yo and £74.99 for the 18yo.
