On Tursday, June 21st, a maximum capacity crowd gathered at the historic and famed Sagamore Farm in Glyndon. Business and Farm members listened to Sagamore’s Randy Lewis (Guest Services & Events Coordinator) and Tom Mullikin (General Manager) explain how the business principles that made Under Armour a runaway success are being utilized at Sagamore with equal results.

Sagamore is the nal resting place for several Hall of Fame horses, including the great Native Dancer.

The Business Networks’ tour of Sagamore begins in the historic indoor exercise track.

2-year old colt Twentyonethirtyone is named after Cal Ripken Jr.’s consecutive games streak.

The tour continues to the six-furlong (3/4 mile) training track, which has a Tapeta surface that incorporates recycled Under Armour fabric as a base component.

After touring the historic barns and facilities, everyone made the trip across the street to the main house for a presentation on branding given by Ellie Trueman. Special thanks to Kool Kurtains and Dover Saddlery, Crofton for sponsoring lunch!

The group got to meet the horses in the training barn.

After the tours, Ellie Trueman of Kool Kurtains gave a talk on branding.

Te next Business Network Tour and Luncheon will be held on Tursday, August 30th at Select Breeders Services in Chesapeake City.
