13. Seymour Arm (Seymour City) – Located at the head of Seymour Arm, Seymour City was built with six saloons, thirteen stores, five bakeries and one bathhouse which served many gold seekers for two years. In 1865, gold was found on the Big Bend of the Columbia River. The town was originally called Ogden City or Ogdensville after the Hudson’s Bay Co. It changed to Seymour City to honor Frederick Seymour, Governor of the Crown Colony of British Columbia from 1864 until his death in 1869.
