D SALMON ARM beaches and docks - no beaching.
11. Sandy Point – Private beaches and docks - no beaching for one half mile north and south.
12. Salmon River flows into the lake at the corner of the bay, running 110 km. north and east from its headwaters in the highlands of Vernon. Do not go closer than the markers indicating the ‘no boating’ boundaries as the area is a bird sanctuary and the water is very shallow and marshy. You can enjoy some nice nature trails west of the large public wharf. The Salmon Arm Bay Nature Enhancement Society has set aside a 30 acre track of land for the use of over 150 species of birds. Bird watchers - the Western Grebe does its mating dance on the water in the spring.

13. Red Light on buoy Marker “E26” - Warning: keep the marker to the right (west) when going to the large public wharf and keep buoy marker “E25” to the left (east). The area between the two markers was dredged as the water in the whole bay is very shallow. From here go directly towards the light at the entrance to the wharf area.
14. Stay to the left of the tall piling with the red light on top when entering the public wharf area. The deepest navigational passage is identified on the chart with the arrows and passageway markers.
15. Public Wharf and Salmon Arm Marine Park - The Rotary Peace Park has a picnic area, a gazebo, a public boat launch, gas, a pump out, moorage and a float plane base. Promenade Pier is 900 feet long which is one of the longest freshwater lake piers in Canada. It is an excellent spot for bird and waterfowl observation. When leaving the wharf area go directly towards the two markers in the middle of the bay.
16. This bay is very shallow and you should stay away from the markers indicating the “no boating” boundary as it is the breeding grounds of Grebe and other birds. The Salmon Arm Bay Nature Enhancement Society has provided a boardwalk and a one half km. nature trail east of the main wharf.
17. Mallard Point – Private beaches and docks north and south - beach only in emergencies.
