27. This marks the west boundary of Cinnemousun Narrows Provincial Park (south). Great beaching in the bay east of this point.


28. Haven Point (quick flashing light) – The cairn was built in the memory of Captain John J. Smith, (April 16, 1872 to May 1, 1944). He was a captain of the sternwheeler “Andover” and later of a tugboat and barge. He drowned in the Shuswap Lake on May 01, 1944. Dive site – a Tug Boat lies a half mile east of Haven Point. The wreck is burnt to the waterline but the hull, engine and transmission are preserved for exploration. Advance dive of about 90 to 100 feet

29. Cinnemousun Narrows Provincial Park (south) - Located where the four arms of the Shuswap Lakes meet. A sign on shore shows some of the nice trails available for exploration. There are 4 large public docks further east.Obtain Provincial Parks permits here as well as firewood. There is also a garbage disposal available near the Ranger cabins. B.C. Parks strongly promotes recycling so do not litter or throw anything into the lake. Houseboats cannot beach between


the signs at Haven Point and the ranger cabin from the beginning of the July long weekend up to Labor Day. There is boat access to 28 wilderness campsites with picnic tables, swimming, f ishing, water skiing, and pit toilets. Keep dogs on a leash in the park. There is a unique vantage point overlooking the lake (a nice 1.5 mile hike). In July of 1865, Walter Moberly camped at the narrows named Cinnemousun which means “come and go back again.” A decade later, its implications were referred to as “bend.”


30. B.C. Parks Building - No unauthorized boats in this area. There is some beaching to the east up to the point.


31. Some beaching areas - beach with care only in the cleared areas.


32. Southern part of Cinnemousun Narrows Provincial Park. Beach with care until you get pass the point to the north.


33. Nice area with private beaches and docks. Rocky shores - no beaching for one half mile north & south.
