south of the point - private beaches and docks also in this area. Hummingbird Creek flows into Mara Creek and then into Mara Lake in the south bay - beach access by land.


8. Rocky shores - no beaching. The highway runs along the shoreline here.


9. Private beaches and docks - no beaching for one half mile north or south.


10. Marshy areas with private beaches and docks - no beaching for one half mile north or south.


11. Mara Lake Provincial Park - Public boat launch on a pleasant beach nestled on the east side of Mara Lake - no overnight mooring. Utilize the vehicle and boat access to sandy beaches - good beaching, washrooms, drinking water, and picnic tables. A very scenic park that is great for swimming and picnics. There are sand bars out 50 feet and just south of the creek as well. Consumption of liquor in public area is prohibited. Dogs are prohibited on the beach and lawn areas. Park is closed 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.


12. Private beaches and docks - no beaching in this area.


13. Private boat launch to the west of the motel and by the large wharf.


14. Shuswap River – Flows from Mabel Lake for 72 km. - river tours available. Do not enter this area by power boat unless you are experienced with the river. It is marshy and very shallow with sand bars out for a few hundred feet on the west side. Do not enter the river with a houseboat. The Enderby Cliffs are unique and a canoe or kayak from Kingfisher to Mara Lake is recommended.


15. Rocky shores - no beaching for one half mile south and north. CP Rail tracks run just above the shoreline.


16. Small beaching areas here. Beach with care north to the bay and south to the cabin.


17. Beautiful bay with private beaches and docks. There are native pictographs on the rock walls when going north towards Sicamous and before the red flashing light.


18. Flashing Red Light – mounted on the side of the rock face close to the surface. No beaching in this area.


19. Permanent deadhead just below surface about 50 feet from shore. Rocky shores - no beaching north to the point and south to the light.


20. Black Point – Private beaches and docks in this area - no beaching.


21. Some beaching areas in the bay but respect the private properties in the corner of the bay.

6. Mara Lake Lookout – Some small, cleared beaching areas with picnic tables for one quarter mile north and one half mile south.

Hydrographic Charts


A. CM Rentals - Boat fuel, personal watercrafts and boat rentals. “What you do for fun is our business!” at Club Mara Marina.


22. Beaching areas - beach with care for one half mile north and south.


23. Private beaches & docks. There is a boat launch for small boats just to the south - rocky shores to the north.


24. Mara Point – Flashing Red Light. Watch for pilings and rocks close to the surface just north of the light. There are some beaching areas in the south bay but beach with care as the area is shallow and rocky.


25. Mara Point Provincial Park (boat access only) - Old Boy Scout Camp and a small beaching area north of the light at the point - beach with care. Pit toilets are provided.


26. Red Marker E22 – Caution - dangerous for surface navigation between the sign and shore. Rocks will remain close to the surface throughout the year and at high water levels. You are best advised to stay clear of this area. There are private beaches and docks on the north and south side of the light.


27. Nice bay with rocky shores and private beaches and docks - no beaching.


28. Sign on shore says “Cable” at the south end of Sicamous Narrows. Anchorage is not permitted in areas where there is a buried cable in the water.
