For years, he was the official veterinarian for the AQHA World Championship Show. A graduate of Texas A&M University, McCarroll had taught equine med- icine and surgery at Oklahoma State University and the University of Tennessee. He had been in pri- vate practice in Central Oklahoma since 1984. His family requested that memorials be made to the NSBA Youth Scholarship Fund, Oklahoma Youth Scholarship Fund, or the AQHA Foundation in his name.

30-year-old Mr Zippo Pine

was euthanized on May 27 due to deteriorating health. He is attributed with having set the standards for the snaffle bit western pleasure horse. The 1995 NSBA Hall of Fame In- ductee spent over the last half of his life in Kansas, but he was owned by Darrell Saul, Des Arc, AR, when Jody Galyean rode him to several big wins, including the Texas Breeders’ Futurity, the Texas Clas- sic, the All-American Quarter Horse Congress, the Arkansas Jam- boree, and the Grand Twenty.
