were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Johnelle LeeAnn, on June 4. Other changes are also happening in the family, too. Both Matt and Lesley recently resigned from their jobs at Sam Houston State University. Matt had been director of SHSU’s equine program since 2006, and Les- ley also taught at the school. She advised the Agricultural Ambassadors group and was re- cently named Faculty Member of the Year. Later this summer the McMillans will move to Pleasanton, Lesley’s hometown. Lesley will own and operate a floral business there, and Matt and his father-in-law are developing a premium peanut hay that will be nutritionally comparable to alfalfa in all ways. They plan to sell it as alter- native forage that can be grown more locally in Texas and therefore be more affordable for live- stock producers.
