Megan Gault recently graduated from North Texas
State University. Formerly ranch hand at Ken Eppers Per- formance Horses in Krum, she has moved to Dallas where she has secured a job.
Ashton Dunkel is versatile, talented, and busy teen.
The daughter of Jill and Doug Dunkel recently completed her freshman year at Archer City High School, Archer City. She was recently recognized as making the academic all- district team in softball. At the Texas State 4-H Round-Up in early June, she won 5 blue ribbons with her photo entries. In August, she will be part of Team Texas, competing in cowhorse-boxing at the 2012 AQHyA World Championship Show.
Brad Jewett and Monica Brant married on May 15.
Brad, of course, is a trainer, Jewett Performance Horses (
Jewettperformancehorses.com), and Monica is an interna-
tional professional fitness and figure competitor/model (mon-
icabrant.com). She is currently in training and competing in track and field events as well. The two dated years ago in high school. They have homes in both Austin and San Antonio.
American Cutting Horse Association and KO Trad-
ing Weekend was celebrated May 18-20, at Washington County Fairgrounds in Brenham. Derby winners included SDP Two Timin Dual (open/Ben Johnson/Randerman Quar- ter Horses) and Kit Dual Rey (non-pro/Steve Mirizzi). High point riders received straw hats, donated by Sombrero Brands and Mark Hollar, and they were Bob Bouget (open), Garrett Broussard (non-pro), and Monte Locke (novice rider).
Ondey Clarke, of Lufkin graduated from Central High
School on May 25, and she plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing de- gree. Tina and Jerry Clarke are Ondey’s proud parents.
Louisiana Stock Horse Association’s May 26 event
was held at Beauregard covered arena in DeRidder. High- point champions included BH Genuine Cat (open/Scott Long), Button Up Wranglers (non-pro/Chloe Bridges), Hanna (jr-horse/Layne Dubose), Jennys Spark (amateur/Jim Gau- thier), Goldie (novice/Bobby Powell), and Absolute an Juice (youth/Colleen Bridges).
