Louis XVI style, late 19th/early 20th century, the gilt metal mounted three-quarter galleried top above a panelled frieze inlaid with panels of ormolu entrelac and fitted with a pair of glazed doors with pleated silk linings and enclosing two adjustable shelves, the base fitted with a drawer above a pair of quarter veneered and crossbanded cupboard doors inlaid with flower heads to the spandrels, the shaped apron with a gilt metal mount modelled as a vase issuing acanthus scrolls and with canted angle and serpentine mirror-veneered sides on gilt metal toupie feet, 73”h x 49”w, (186cms x 124.5cms). the moulded rectangular top decorated with figures smoking pipes and playing music in Oriental gardens with flowering prunus, rockwork and foliage, within a hexagonal trellis and trailing flower head border, the frieze fitted with a long drawer above a recess kneehole fitted with a cupboard door and flanked on either side by a column, three short graduated drawers on a moulded plinth with bun feet, 305”h x 32”w x 19 1/2”d (77cms x 81cms x 50cms). each with baluster splat below a scroll carved cresting centred by a cartouche and flanked by plain stiles with foliate finials, with green velvet- coloured fringed padded rectangular seat and on baluster legs joined by box stretchers, one branded with the Barberini crest on the reverse. (2)
