985 AN ORMOLU MOUNTED MAHOGANY COMMODE A L’ANGLAISE, Louis XVI - late 18th Century and later, the white marble top with serpentine ends and baluster pierced gallery above a frieze drawer and conforming sides mounted with stiff leaves alternating with flutes divided by rectangular flowerhead mounts above a pair of later central doors inlaid with ‘MA’ monogram and with cut corners inlaid with flowerheads, the sides with serpentine grey-veined white marble shelves with conforming baluster galleries, on turned tapering legs and toupie feet, the reverse branded with an interlaced LL monogram below a crown. 38”h x 58 1/4”w x 22” (96.5cms x 148cms x 56cms).
