re you answering the call of your soul? Many of you may wonder what exactly this means, but it’s simply doing what you are truly passionate about and loving life every day. That’s how you know you are in direct communi- cation with your soul and listening to the guidance it has for you. Likewise, you also know or should be aware that when you are unhappy, when you lack passion for your work or relationships, when you have no identifiable purpose in life and no hope for the future, you are not aligned with your soul’s purpose. It’s that simple. Your soul wants nothing more than for you to have a long, happy, and fulfilling life.

A I find that most people clearly know whether

or not they are in harmony with their soul’s purpose. That’s not the challenge. The challenge is figuring out exactly what the soul’s purpose is if you know you’re not aligned with it. Many of us look to others to tell us what our purpose is or should be. You will never find your soul’s purpose looking outside of yourself. It is something that is so personal, so innate and so singularly tied to who you are and what you will become, that no one else can ever tell you what it is. So, how do you find your purpose, which essentially is answer- ing the call of your soul? First, it bears mention that your purpose may change throughout your lifetime. And you may have several purposes that you fulfill simultaneously. Finding your purpose can seem to be a daunting task. It’s also important to keep in mind that finding your purpose may require a lot of in depth exploration into your past and into who you are today. I’ve found that life coaching can be invaluable in helping people who are really stuck open their minds to new possibilities and opportunities. You may need to spend time in solitude to meditate and listen to your intuition, which is a way your soul sends you messages about purpose. Some other strate- gies to use include:

1. Examine Your Past. List 3 times in your life when you were excited and passionate about what you were doing in your career or personal life. 2. Investigate the Common Themes. What commonalities can

you draw from the times you were most passionate. 3. Keep it Simple and Expect it to Happen. Many people think their purpose should be this big, grandiose thing. Dreams are usually big and extravagant, but purpose is typically simple. Dreams are the world of the ego, while purpose is the world of the soul. Maintain a mentality of expectation. If you expect to find your purpose, you will.
