News INTERNATIONAL UPDATE Bloomberry seeks to re-IPO
Bloomberry Resorts, developer of PAGCOR’s Entertainment City, is seeking to raise US$200m
Bloomberry Resorts Corp., developer of the first integrated gaming complex to open in Pagcor’s Entertainment City, expects to raise nearly US$200m following a re-initial public offering, or re-IPO, of about 11.45 per cent of the company.
Bloomberry has also offered Global Gaming Philippines, its management partner in the Solaire Manila project, the option to acquire 9.91 per cent of Bloomberry any time before the casino opens its doors by first quarter of 2013. In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Bloomberry said it was planning to sell up to 1.18bn shares from the ongoing top-up offering of between P6.55 and P8.25 per share.
“The conduct of an equity fund raising by way of a placing and subscription transaction allows Bloomberry to raise equity funds in a most expeditious and efficient manner, with the least cost to Bloomberry for its Solaire Manila project,” the disclosure said. “The transaction is also intended to strengthen and broaden the capital base of Bloomberry as well as to promote a wider dispersion of the common shares of Bloomberry to a broad spectrum of public institutional investors and to comply with the requirement for minimum public ownership of a listed company.”
Net proceeds from this offering will fund phase 1 of Bloomberry’s Solaire Manila project in Pagcor’s Entertainment City, which is targeted to commence operations by the first quarter of 2013.
Solaire Manila is an integrated tourism resort owned and being constructed by Sureste Properties Inc. and Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels Inc., which are the operating subsidiaries of Bloomberry.
BRHI is one of the four companies licensed by state-owned Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. with provisional license to establish and operate integrated tourism resorts at Pagcor Entertainment City.
Solaire Manila will be located on an 8.3- hectare seafront property leased from Pagcor. Phase 1 when completed will have a multi-level casino with 18,500 square meters of gaming area, including 6,000 square meters of exclusive VIP gaming area with approximately 300
