Malling.org.uk Jubilee Celebrations EAST MALLING JUBILEE FAYRE - SUNDAY 3rd JUNE 2012
The East Malling Jubilee Fayre will be the biggest event East Malling has ever seen. It promises to be an exciting and action-packed day, filled with entertainment.
The day will begin with a service at St James the Great Church at 10am, then a parade of dancers and performers will travel from the King and Queen pub along New Road to the main site on the playing field, and at noon KMFM Radio will begin broadcasting as the fayre is officially opened by Group Captain Patrick Tootal, Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, along with Cllr David Davis, Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling
Arena events and traditional stalls will run throughout the day such as Sky Birds of Prey, Abyss Street Dancers (featured on “Britain’s Got Talent”), tug of war, martial arts, dancing, dog show and much more. New Road will be closed from the King and Queen pub to Beech Road. Morris dancing and clog dancing are being performed throughout the day.
Food and drink will be available with teas, coffees, cakes, beer tent, hog roast, paella, BBQ, ice cream, candy floss, doughnuts - all your needs catered for.
The day will culminate with an outdoor evening concert of local musical talent covering a spectrum of music from choral through to rock, and a rousing finale will give an opportunity for us to wave our flags and celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Programmes are £1 each, with all details, timings, map PLUS chance of £200 prize. Draw tickets available £1 each - top prize £500 plus many other prizes.

WEST MALLING JUBILEE PARTY
THE West Malling Jubilee party will be held on Monday, June 4, from 10am to 3pm in the High street.
There will be children’s entertainers, a live band, hot food, and a selection of market stalls.
The High Street will be closed for the event so bring along your own picnic tables and chairs and join in the fun.
A feast of food available to buy will include venison from The Wild Food Company, a hog roast at The Swan and delicious French crepes.
Children’s interactive theatre company Applause will give two performances during the day and there will be music from the Charlie Munro Band at noon.
St Mary’s Church will be presenting a flower display with illustrations of each decade of the Queen’s reign.
There is also a chance to visit the legendary Twitch Inn Heritage Centre which will be opened by the Malling Society in honour of the occasion.. The former cellar bar was the haunt of World War II pilots flying from RAF West Malling and is adorned with candle soot “graffiti” in the form of signatures and cartoons.
BIRLING 50’S THEMED JUBILEE STREET PARTY
Birling will be holding a 50s themed street party outside the village hall on Monday, 4 June. A Jubilee Queen has been chosen and there will be a band and traditional races. Everyone has been asked to bring along a bunting flag which will be sewn together so that memorial bunting can be made and a time capsule will be buried. All of this will be filmed (as will participation in the art project) and the video shown at a later date. Residents, including local craftsmen, are going to refurbish the lych gate at All Saints' Church, which was erected to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee.
