Not surprisingly, Ms. Antar is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades. She was recently named in THE BEST OF AMERICA SCULPTURE ARTISTS Volume II, and IMPORTANT WORLD ARTISTS I.
In May 2011 she was given five special recognition awards for artwork in the “13th
Annual
Contemporary Art Juried Online International Art Exhibition” hosted by Upstream People Gallery. She was also awarded a Diploma of Excellence in the 9th Female Artists Art Annual, by Art Addiction Online Gallery, London. ArtSlant, the number one contemporary art network, chose Antar this past June as a Showcase Winner in the 2011 Showcase Cycle competition. Artsy Shark, the blog for artists, features both abstract works and icons of Americana from Antar’s Realism In Stone collection. Art In New York City, a website that promotes the work of local artists, has posted a feature story on the Brooklyn artist. Antar was also recently nominated to become a member of the NY Society of Women Artists.
Other awards include: The NYC Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, the Gold Medal of Honor from The Allied Artists of America (for the Milano®
cookies), the Associate award for
‘boxing gloves’ in 2010 from the Allied Artist of America, and the Gretchen Richardson Award for carved sculpture (work boot) from the National Association of women artists.
