30 10TH ANNUAL

INDIAN WELLS ARTS FESTIVAL APRIL 6 TOAPRIL 8, 2012

WHERE ART IS A HAPPENING! The 10th Annual INDIAN WELLS ARTS FESTIVAL

took place from April 6 to April 8, 2012, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden - Home of the BNP Paribas Open Tennis Tournament. More than 200 award winning artists transformed the magnificent path-lined plaza into a spectacular festival experience. Indian Wells is conveniently located in the heart of the Southern California -- Palm Springs/Desert Resort communities.

Festival Producer Dianne Funk states: “The Indian Wells Arts Festival is designed to create a festive event experience and community celebration. The creative synergy of demonstrating artists, local sponsors, exhibitors and non-profit partners enhances our venue with vibrant activity.”

Approximately 8,000 people participated the year prior, from local residents, families and tourists to serious buyers and collectors. Art sales approached $700,000.

With a celebrated reputation for its quality and wide variety of fine art and quality craft, artists travel from throughout the country to participate. Selected by jury process, they are on hand to explain and demonstrate the techniques that created hundreds of pieces of one-of-a-kind artwork available for purchase. Offerings include painting, drawing, ceramics, glass, photography, sculpture, jewelry, apparel and hand-crafted wares.

You don’t need to be an art aficionado to enjoy the Indian Wells Arts Festival. Everyone loves to watch the on-site demonstrations including glass blowing, painting, weaving, large scale stone sculpting, larger-than-life mural painting, sand sculpture, wood carving and pottery throwing.

An enjoyable and fun relaxing day can be found strolling and exploring the Festival. A Gourmet Market Place offers gourmet specialties, while sidewalk chalk drawing, children’s activities, wine tasting, live musical entertainment and refreshment are ongoing throughout the day.
