commercial property 45 Fresh new content and venue

The Thames Valley Property Forum (TVPF) 2012 conference agenda was launched at MIPIM, the international property exhibition held in France in March. Exciting new speakers, panelists, sponsors, venue and content has been confirmed for TVPF 2012 which will be held this year on Thursday September 13

MIPIM had over 18,000 attendees from around the world and provided a unique platform for the Thames Valley to promote the qualities and location it can offer companies who want to position their businesses in the Thames Valley region. TVPF will pick up on the renewed interest and investment from the USA, China and Europe and this theme will be a focus at the conference in September.

After two sell-out conferences, Battle Associates, the enablers of the conference, are keen to take TVPF, the premier property conference in the region, into new areas and present fresh content. TVPF will be exploring the importance of developing an integrated travel plan for the Thames Valley, an update on the Western Railways Access to Heathrow (WRAtH) which will bring Slough within six minutes of T5

Heathrow, news on the LEP, exclusive market update on the region, information on the major occupiers and investors looking at the Thames Valley as an area of opportunity.

One key change this year is the venue, Ascot Racecourse. TVPF will be using the Parade Ring conference room and the Horsewalk Restaurant for the networking lunch. This is located above the Royal enclosure and offers delegates outrageous views across the Thames Valley. Ascot also provides plenty of car parking and opportunities to see the pop-up exhibition stands and talk to key suppliers and investors.

Corporate occupiers will also be represented and will make an active contribution to TVPF. These include 02 Telefonica , RIM Blackberry, Yell, ING Direct and others who have all been part of The Occupiers Group

New name for Bracknell

Procter & Gamble has taken a lease on Unit 2, 1 Eastern Road a modern warehouse/industrial facility of 27,000 sq ft. Haslams acted for the landlord F&C Reit while Jones Lang LaSalle acted for the tenant

Roger Reid at Haslams commented: “Whilst the office market in Bracknell is challenging, the industrial market is reasonably buoyant and could offer a boost to the town in the coming months. A number of other industrial occupiers are also rumoured to be considering the town and there is also a good chance of some new development in the not too distant future.”

The re-emergence of Bracknell as a serious industrial location is unsurprising given the towns strategic location between the M3 and M4 motorways.

Historically, a number of major organisations have seen the benefit of locating in the town and a number have chosen to locate major operations there such as Cable and Wireless, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Waitrose and Dell. For Procter & Gamble the decision to locate in the town is yet another endorsement by a major corporation.

THE BUSINESS MAGAZINE – THAMES VALLEY – APRIL 2012

The letting reflects a recent increase in demand for units of 5,000 to 30,000 sq ft in the Bracknell area with a number of companies either looking for space or under offer.
