rain water to flush the toilets etc, but unfortunately it was too far down the line to implement such ideas. However, if we were to build a home from the beginning I would definitely look at what we could do that would benefit the environment,” she continued.
“I never ever have days where I do not want healthy food - I actually love the healthy food that we eat ”
Julie is also an advocate of shopping locally to get the best products, and believes it is becoming much easier to live organically, especially since most large supermarket chains now carry organic ranges. And with so many companies also offering a wide selection of organic fruit, v e g e t able s , meat
and
fish boxes, delivered to
customers’ doors, such produce is increasingly accessible – so you have no excuse not to make the change! As anyone who has ever tried to stick
to a healthy diet will know, there can be very testing times, especially when you return home from work and the last thing you want to do is cook, so reaching for the takeaway menus is the inevitable result. Does Julie ever feel the same? Apparently not: “I never ever have days where I do not want healthy food - I actually love the healthy food that we eat. That is not to say that I don't sometimes crave a tub of ice cream or a bar of chocolate and like I said - no food is banned in our house. We definitely live by the 80/20 rule - we are good 80 per cent of the time and the remaining 20 per cent, we eat what we like. I am the first to sit down with a big box of chocolates to watch the football! Bliss!” An organic lifestyle has certainly worked for Julie and her family.
