for a healthier family but to create a more sustainable environment for her children. Since living in their house, the Seal family have put in better loft insulation and had their windows sealed. They also use low energy light bulbs, buy organic food and recycle all the waste they can, but Celia wanted to do more to create a sustainable lifestyle. The allotment was a big decision for
the family, and it has become a big part of their life. Celia takes her son Oliver, 8, and daughter Charlotte, 9, down every weekend during spring and summer while they are at school and

every day in the holidays to work on the plot.
Celia made every effort to make her family more sustainable right from when Charlotte was born, but despite enjoying living this green lifestyle, she struggles to keep up with the good habits when she is rushing around looking after her two children. The plot was overgrown with weeds when the family first took it on In July, 2008, but they worked on the allotment
over that summer, and
turned it around quickly, ready to start growing and creating the atmosphere she longed for. Celia said: “I’ve always loved
gardening, I wanted to grow my own food so I knew what was put into it, or not. I wanted to encourage the children
