I'm proud to represent a constituency in a city which is famous the world over for its cultural influence. Having worked in the arts


industry prior to being elected, I know how valuable this industry is to our local economy here in Edinburgh. As part of a series of


placements with the Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT), last month I visited Creative Scotland Head Office in the city centre. It was an excellent


opportunity to learn more about the UK's cultural and creative industries. I saw at first hand their


investment in the arts and how it benefits Scotland. One of the highlights included taking in a showreel of films which have been supported by the organisation. Creative Scotland Chief


Executive Andrew Dixon and I discussed a variety of topics and I was really interested in learning about how young people access careers and how Scotland can develop apprenticeships and training in these industries.
