CELEBRITY INTERVIEW

Moving on to health and fi tness. What do you think about the nation’s obsession with celebs and their weight?

“Marvin’s a bum guy – and I’ve defi nitely got an arse!”

“I got criticised last summer for being ‘big’, which is ridiculous – I was a size 10 and a 12 on my bottom half if I couldn’t squeeze my arse in a 10. That’s smaller than most women in the UK, so for people to say that’s big is a joke. So I put on a bit of weight – so what? That’s life – it might happen again this year! I’m just lucky I’m in the frame of mind where I don’t get caught up in it all.” So how do you keep fi t? “The only reason I lost weight and toned up was down to all the dancing on tour – it certainly wasn’t a conscious decision. Funnily enough I’ve just booked up some sessions with a personal trainer, but I’ve only used one so far! I fi nd the gym boring – I’ve been with Marvin a few times but I end up sitting there watching him work out because I can’t be bothered! If I can get away with not doing any exercise for a while then I will – it’s when my jeans feel snug that I decide to do something about it!” What’s a typical day’s diet? “It varies – I’ve just polished off a macaroni cheese from M&S! Whenever Marvin works away my eating habits go right out the window, and I eat naughty things like Yum-Yums or chocolate eclairs. The other night I got an Indian takeaway then I reheated the leftovers yesterday, which can’t be good! If he’s home I’m much healthier,

choosing porridge for breakfast, soup for lunch and a stir-fry or chili con carne for dinner.” So are you happy with your fi gure? “We’re all built differently and I think we have to embrace our natural curves. I’m lucky I have a fl at tummy but I hate my legs – they are always a funny shape regardless of whether I gain or lose weight.” And what’s Marvin’s favourite part of your body? “My bum – he’s a real bum guy and I’ve defi nitely got an arse! When I’m feeling self-conscious and think I ought to eat more healthily he always says ‘don’t lose that bum!’ He also says there’s nothing worse than a child-like fi gure – I don’t know if he says it just to stay in my good books, but it works!”
