Thompson, who named the cafe after their daughter Evie, say
the opening of the cafe is the realisation of a long held dream to re-create the French style of pavement cafes and relaxed lifestyle.
Paul said: “When we first opened, Ossett town centre had hit rock bottom and we were determined to create the sort of cafe which would lift the spirits and reflect the on-going
regeneration of the local area.’’ Today Cafe Vie is stylish and welcoming with a first floor orangery which opens out onto a balcony, ideal for dining out on sunny days.
On the menu at Cafe Vie is a selection of quality coffees, speciality teas, home made cakes and pastries, lunch choices and a selection of sandwiches. Ideal for winter days is Cafe Vie’s special warming hot chocolate.
The cafe sits next door to Paul and Lisa’s baker’s shop which produces a great choice of bread, pastries, savouries, cakes and buns using traditional recipes and
locally sourced ingredients where possible. Hot and cold sandwiches are available, ideal for lunchtime snacks to take away.
Both the shop and cafe are just a short walk from Ossett precinct and there is parking close by. Cafe Vie is already gaining an excellent reputation with many repeat customers who are also telling their friends and family about this new addition to Ossett town centre.
