Let the planning begin!

Is 2012 going to be the year when you either tie the knot or start planning your dream wedding?

For some couples, the planning is quick and easy, while others can spend years in the planning stages. Whichever way you plan your wedding, there’s certainly lots to think about. One good idea is to go along to one of the many local wedding fayres which are

on the website at www.ido-magazine.co.uk where you can find local wedding fayre dates, local wedding suppliers and discount vouchers. The first thing you need to do when you decide to get married is set the date and find the venue.

Today many couples still prefer a traditional white wedding in a church, followed by a reception for family and friends.

‘take a look at the popular local wedding magazine ‘I Do’, or look on the website at www.ido-magazine.co.uk where you can find local wedding fayre dates’

held throughout the spring across the area. Today many hotels organise a wedding fayre, where you can view the venue and meet other wedding suppliers such as florists, photographers, taxi firms, bridal shops etc, promote their services.

Another good idea is to take a look at the popular local wedding magazine ‘I Do’, or look

However many brides and grooms opt today for a civil ceremony at a local hotel or other registered establishment which means they can organise the whole event under the same roof. Many local hotels offer this service and provide both the civil ceremony, the reception, evening ‘do’ and accommodation altogether. But it’s not just hotels which are registered for civil ceremonies. Today you can get married in a castle, local land mark or even at a football ground – the list is endless.

Once you’ve decided on the date and venue, get these booked in so the date is definite and you’ve got your slot in the venue’s calendar. There are still however so many things to organise in the weeks and months ahead, so why not make a list of all your requirements? Remember that many local service providers are listed on the I Do website and there are

great deals to be had if you have time to shop around.

The main thing for the big wedding is, of course, the dress. Many brides already have a picture in their mind of the dream wedding dress.

Today the choice of wedding dress is endless so organise a visit to your chosen bridal shop and discuss the possibilities. You may also be able to purchase your shoes, tiara, jewellery etc under the same roof as many bridal shops also sell a wide range of accessories. If you are having bridesmaids then you will need to decide on the colour and style for their dresses. It’s always a good idea to consult with your chosen attendants first however to find our their ideas and what they would be happy with. Not forgetting the bridegroom, he needs to organise both his outfit and that for the rest of his bridal party including the best man, groomsmen etc. Again specialist outfits are available with a great choice of styles and colours.

Once all this is organised, don’t forget the flowers, photographs, table decorations, taxis, honeymoon, wedding invitations and much more. Take a look at I Do magazine for more inspiration and ideas. Happy planning!
