Christel and her husband founded RCI in 1974 when she came up with the idea of exchanging your timeshare for another timeshare destination. She always had dedicated her spare time to charities. When RCI was sold in 1996, she traveled the world and was inspired by what she ex- perienced in third world coun- tries. As a result, Christel House was born as learning centers. Her creed, “to care, to share and to make a differ- ence” became a reality in 1998 as the first Christel House opened in Mexico City.

Currently there are seven learning centers that Christel has founded, directed and funded. They are located in India, (2), South Africa, Ven- ezuela, Serbia and U.S. In 2011 she raised $6.5 million

Meg McGary, project di- rector at Royal Solaris in San Jose says,” Zman we are back on track. We had a very productive November and the rest of the high season will only increase our sales.” Ignacio Villalvazo is not only the sales manger but also the top producer as the 2011 sea- son closes. He is supported by team leaders Alejandro Palma, Israel Betech and Joe Dopoo. Team leader is re- sponsible for training and mo- tivating each member of the team, and assists in the sales process. Currently, Meg em- ployees 12 sales agents and 30 guest representatives. The GRs, as they are known in our industry, act as member services and take care of the assigned Club Solaris mem- bers and their guests. They can accompany them on tours, fiestas, or dinners. They offer tips and advice and in essence are their best friends while timesharing in our Baja. And of course the GR wants you back in the sales center to purchase more. Meg wants 10 more GR’s for the high season. The average GR can pocket $2500 to $3500 monthly but the top guns can gross $8,000 a month in high season. Meg tells us talent is not that important, that she is looking for drive, highly mo- tivated and a very positive at- titude. Meg is also looking for a few well experienced front to back sales agents and clos- ers. And if face to face selling is not your forte, then the Contact Center could be for you. This center utilizes out bound calls but more so, so- cial media to book qualified prospects for a preview time- share vacation. No personal contact necessary but you must be computer savvy. Zman note: this is not for me as I do not know the differ- ence between an app and a keyboard. If interested con- tact Jerry Riviera, on site. Cub Solaris is also moving for- ward with expansion in other resort cities in Mexico. They have purchased land in Nuevo Vallarta to develop a major timeshare property. Raintree Resorts Interna- tional is making changes at the corporate level. CEO Doug Bech recently announced the appointments of Ann Barker Senior Vice President, Resort Operations and Gary Allcorn Senior Vice President Chief Financial Officer. Both have had many years of work his- tory in our industry. April Bolden was appointed Cor-
