they are on top of the bank and have attracted lots of hammerhead sharks making it impossible to keep a bait in the zone where the yel- lows were found.
More striped marlin are arriving every day and there are still a few sailfish along with fewer larger marlin in- cluding a black marlin that was lost on a La Playita panga recently.
The beaches along the front of the hotel zone off of San Jose del Cabo have been producing roosterfish to twenty pounds. The in- flux of one of the winter fa- vorites, sierra, have begun to school from now to May along the beaches. A light tackle favorite that can reach fifteen pounds but most are in the 3 to 5 pound class.

well today at least. This is that time of year when you know the fish are out there. When the wind backs off, the dorado and billfish can usually be found close by. For many this is the time of year when trolling close to shore for sierra is a good option while keeping a close eye on the horizon for the tell-tale wind line creeping toward the beach. La Paz. weather reports. It is what it is. It’s winter now. Some days are incredibly windy. They are the kinds of days when you just should not be out there. The next day it’s flat and sunny. The next day it’s cloudy. Winds can shift direction half-a-dozen times in a day.
