BUILDING your

BY DANIEL S. GORDON, CPA THROUGH EXPANDED OFFERINGS

Many times I work with pest management firms who offer several different services both related and unrelated to pest control.

I usually ask myself, Is there focus? Is there some type of relationship that exists between our core competence and the ancillary services that we offer? But most important is there full commitment to offering these ancillary services or is it just something we are doing when we don’t have pest services to perform? While I believe that a pest control company can and should offer expanded services to their clients, they should only offer those services that make sense based on the type of operation that is currently in place or create the infrastructure that will allow success in an unrelated field. This article will explore those types of “add on” services that I believe make sense as it relates to the pest control business model.
