O
ver the past year The Hill has reinvented itself as one of Greenwich’s premier dining destinations. Since taking over in August, brothers Andres and Alyvar Villamagua have developed a unique and sophisticated pan-Mediterranean menu featuring dishes from France, Italy and Spain. Some dishes are old family recipes passed down the generations, and a Latin American twist refl ects the brothers’ Ecuadorian heritage. The results are original and exciting, a far cry from the standard Spanish and Italian fare routinely served in local restaurants. The Hill offers warmth, excellence and value for money, achieved through dedication, care, and family pride. Only the fi nest ingredients are used, such as Foie Gras from France chosen especially for this year’s Christmas menu. Whilst the food is the star of the show, attention is paid to every detail of the dining experience, from the wine list and the customer service, to the décor. The restaurant itself is a living homage to the brothers’ father, Alyvar Villamagua, an internationally renowned artist. The walls are adorned with examples
of his work, which inspire and fascinate every bit as much as the food.
Consider sea bass and monkfi sh ravioli or
tagliatelle in a wild boar ragu, the
argentinian meat _ and an extra special paella is soon to feature
too. And if you’re considering the
