decorations in one or two colours. If you have a fireplace, even if its not a blazing log fire it can be dressed up to look the focal point of the room especially at Christmas. The mantelpiece is an ideal location for creating a grand effect with decorations and of course Christmas stockings. Combine your colour scheme with the room, modern Gold and silver, purple and white, crystals and feathers, or traditional reds and greens follow the nature theme with bowls of fir cones or nuts in their shells and red baubles, Poinsettia plants on side tables and branches of holly in place of flowers. Add some Christmassy cushions for the sofa and some large scented candles for that cosy festive feel. Lay the table the night before so you can spend time making it look amazing add table confetti, candles, place names and table gifts to make it a special event rather than just a meal.
