Bay Area Building Officials Encourage Builder Feedback
encouraged a cohesive work environment for all, and asked for feedback from builders on what they could do to make permitting easier, and help builders make the inspection process go smoother for both the city and the building companies.

League City led the pack with the most permits at 55 per month. Baytown came in second at 15 permits per month, closely followed by Friendswood at 14, and Dickinson and Santa Fe holding steady at 5 per month.

Windstorm inspections are being done at frame stage, but there are no requirements in the foreseeable future for any engineering stamp. Windstorm certifications are needed for final green tag by every city included on the panel, however, homeowners are allowed to occupy when the home is completed.
Green building initiatives are still in infancy stages in these communities and third party inspectors are being used at this time until more homes are built or are in higher demand.
This luncheon was very informative and we thank these esteemed building officials for the time they spent with us. BABA will be having more city official panels going forward, alternating different cities at different times throughout 2012.

Fun was had by many, both builders and associates alike. And the costumes were great! Obama made an appearance; there were a few witches, a Rasta girl, and even a gorilla. Timber Creek Golf Club was the site for the event, and the shotgun went off at 12:30 p.m. on the dot. Hole number one of the Trails course was decorated by Operation Finally Home, complete with a fabulous raffle prize on display—a 2011 Kawasaki TERYX All-Terrain Vehicle. Right next door, BMC Building Materials was on Creekside’s first hole, giving away golf balls and playing games.

It was impossible to miss the beautiful hole-in-one prize displayed by Ron Carter Cadillac—a crimson red CTSV sitting atop the hill as you walked on to the course. Sadly no one hit an ace on hole two, so the car went back to the dealer. But no one went home empty handed. The winners of first, second and third place took home trophies,
