International Forest Industries is not long back from Expoforest 2011 – a unique exhibition that ran from April 13-15 covering an area of 118 ha within a eucalyptus plantation in Mogi Guaçu, of the Sao Paulo interior, owned by International Paper.

The weather for the show – staged over three days and attracting a huge number of visitors – was as interesting as the machines on show with a mixture of blazing heat and overnight thunderstorms. Importantly, Expoforest 2011 is believed to be the first time the six biggest harvesting companies in timber have appeared at the same show. Tigercat, Ponsse and Volvo went to great expense to create a lasting impression with existing and potential customers. An impressive array of machinery demonstrated cut-to-length and tree length harvesting systems and was presented to an international audience. All the displays had merit, however without question the John Deere active displays to the tune of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme stole the show. To mark this event, IFI in Part 1 has devoted
