Top notch rainwater system does the trick… When the old cast iron guttering on Steve Parson’s house became detached from the fasçia boards, he knew that the house needed surgery! He was impressed by the latest Elegance uPVC cast iron look alike system from Polypipe. The Elegance Ogee Notched looked just right for the property providing a secure fit and coun- tered the problem of gutters becoming dislodged from their retaining clips during warm

weather due to heat expansion, making leaky joints a thing of the past. These benefits, in addition to the lightweight construction of the new guttering system, makes handling, assembly and installation as simple as possible.

Two million CAD drawing download milestone recorded this month

Technical Graphics Limited is please to announce, since its inception at the turn of the Millennium, their Architectural CAD Database website www.fastrackcad.com has recorded over two million building com- ponent CAD detail and assembly drawing downloads. There are now over 44,000 registered FastrackCAD users including architects, architectural technologists, designers, consulting engineers, surveyors and other building component specifiers who regularly download in excess of 2,000 drawings every working day. This free source of approved drawings is estimated to have saved the industry at least 300,000 hours of drafting time. Managing director Terry Holding says, “It is generally acknowledged that the FastrackCAD website has greatly reduced the time taken to accurately include components into project plans. For the specifier this makes it one of the industry’s most worthwhile forms of electronic communication.” He continues, “For manufacturers, we know most FastrackCAD Databases are completely self funding as our service can regularly provide extra business opportunities that may not otherwise be achieved; a very positive return on modest investment.” Manufacturers can now opt for the full FastrackCAD service, including hosting and weekly market reporting or an Introductory link service, which directs users to drawings hosted by the manufacturer’s own website.
