A new take on lighting in the kitchen gives users some clever integrated options
SieMatic has developed an innovative lighting range designed to bring a whole new perspective to the kitchen. The new multi-faceted lighting channel
GERMAN
allows the kitchen area to be transformed into an atmospheric space where form and function collide, and intended to suit every need and serve any occasion. The lighting channel consists of three
levels, all of which serve a different function to meet the needs of the task in hand and to set an appropriate mood for the occasion. The design allows the kitchen space to have a truly personal feel and unique edge that can be altered constantly, depending on the desired effect. Situated on the lower level are T-5
florescent bulbs which are designed to produce a direct, warm-white working light, suitable for food preparation and cooking. The second level uses LED lights to create subtle mood-lighting in a warm-white shade while the third level brings a sense of exuberance into the room, instantly giving the kitchen that all important ‘wow-factor’. Coloured mood lighting is created
through LED RGB lights and with almost any desired shade available, allowing the user to select an appropriate hue for their mood. In addition, the mood lighting can be radiated upwards, downwards, or in both directions. The lighting channel can be operated
through a small LED touch-switch, a sensor- switch which detects hand movement, a remote control or even through a specially created iPhone or iPad application, all of which allow the brightness and colour to be altered easily. designer
