past President of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of ABA, Texas TLA, ABOTA, ATLA-PAC, a Trustee of Civil Justice Foundation, and a Founder and Past President of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. His specialty is toxic and mass tort litigation and he is the author of Handling Occupational Disease Claims.


WILLIAM P. LIGHTFOOT William P. Lightfoot (Koonz, McKenney, Johnson, DePaolis & Lightfoot; Washing-


ton, D.C.) is a nationally recognized attorney representing burn victims. His law practice is limited to personal injury claims with a concentration on children burned by hot water. In 1992, William P. Lightfoot was chosen by Washingtonian Maga- zine as one of the fifty best lawyers in the District of Columbia.


JOHN F. ROMANO Mr. Romano (Romano, Eriksen & Cronin; West Palm Beach, Florida) is a past


President of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association and of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. He is a past member of ATLA Board of Governors and the author of Strategic Use of Circumstantial Evidence. He is a board certified Civil Trial Advocate by the Florida Bar and NBTA, and is a Fellow of the International Acad- emy of Trial Lawyers.


THOMAS J. VESPER Tom Vesper (Westmoreland, Vesper & Schwartz; West Atlantic City, NJ) is a past


President of the New Jersey Chapter of ATLA. He is a Diplomate and Sustaining member of ATLA, a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a founding member of Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. He has lectured and written on the 3rd Edition of the ATLA Trial Notebook and Deposition Notebook.

IRA H. LEESFIELD Mr. Leesfield (Leesfield, Leighton, Rubio & Mahfood, PA; Miami, Florida) is the


past President of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and past Chair of The Florida Bar CLE Committee. He currently serves as Senior Florida Governor of ATLA, a life member of The Roscoe Pound Foundation, a Fellow of the American Bar Asso- ciation, and is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Miami School of Law.


RICHARD H. MIDDLETON, JR. Mr. Middleton (Middleton, Mathis, Adams & Tate, PC; Atlanta, Georgia) is the im-


mediate Past President of ATLA. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Roscoe Pound Foundation, ATLA-PAC, and the ATLA Permanent Endowment. He is a Past- President of the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association, and has served on the national Board of Directors of ABOTA.


FRANK VERDERAME Mr. Verderame (Plattner Verderame, PC; Atlanta, Georgia) is a past president of the


Arizona Trial Lawyers Association where he also served as the Secretary-Treasurer, and the Legislative and Seminar Director. He is a member of ABOTA, ATLA, the ABA, American Judicature Society, American Arbitration Association- Panel of Ar- bitrators, Roscoe Pound Foundation, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice Association, and the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel.
