A new collection of ultra-modern bathroom furniture aims to challenge conventional ideas on which materials can be used in the bathroom

STEEL

surfaces are typically kitchen design

fare. Indeed, Italian manufacturer Componendo has been producing kitchen furniture using this and other materials for many years, but now, it has also come up with some eye-catching visions of bringing steel into the bathroom. Founded in an area of Italy known for

its craftsmanship and knowledge of these materials, the company has the advantage of the availability of skilled workers in this highly specialised field of manufacturing. The company was created in 1999 by Domenico Battistoni - who already had more than 20 years’ experience in the

materials and furniture industry, kitchens in particular – and his son Matteo. From the outset the company counted market-leading companies such as Scavolini, Poliform, Veneta Cucine and Isa amongst its clients. More recently, Componendo has added to its kitchen furniture designs with its new bathroom collection which underlines what it believes is huge potential for introducing steel into bathroom designs. The bathroom collection is characterised by the combination of stainless steel with Corian, glass, or wood such as Santos Rosewood, Black Walnut and Light Oak. ➔
