newsbriefs Fit & Fuel Opens in Naples
N
aples Cyclery, a full-service, independent bike shop in Southwest Florida for more than 25 years, has debuted Fit & Fuel, an indoor/outdoor café and professional bike-fit studio, located adjacent to their existing store at the Pavilion shopping center, in Naples. According to owner Mark Trudeau, the “fit” in Fit & Fuel concentrates on making rid- ing more pleasurable. Professional fitters focus on making the bike fit the specific person’s needs. “Whether it is a new rider or a seasoned triathlete, our staff uses cutting-edge Body Geometry (BG) Fit Data video-capture to tailor existing rigs or build custom applications,” says Trudeau.
The “fuel” focuses on lifestyle, with light-fare menu items ranging from granola and seasonal fruit to sandwiches and salads, many certified organic. Local premier roaster, Jojoka Coffee, is also featured.
People are welcomed into the café with a warm décor that offers plush leather
chairs and recounts the days of cycling’s past via old racing posters. Open, floor- to-ceiling glass doors separate the café from the fit studio, where triathlon and road bikes line the racks. A large, flat-screen TV streams real-time views of bike fitting in the studio enclosure.
