Business Community
Rallies Support The evening before the September groundbreak- ing, the Campaign Business Committee, which is comprised of local and city business leaders, held a VIP event for the hospital's business partners. About 100 longstanding and new business partners enjoyed a cocktail reception under tents at the groundbreaking site. Campaign chair Dave Kavanaugh welcomed guests, and Kent Davidson, senior vice president at VOA Architects, gave a heartfelt tribute to the Sisters and an update on the construction plans. He spoke to the importance of keeping the integrity of the Sisters’ heritage in mind throughout the building process.
The new West Pavilion, which is expected to be completed by fall 2012, will modernize and transform the Little Company of Mary Campus. The West Pavilion will include new locations for many services currently housed in the North Pavilion and the technologically outdated Tower Building. The new tower will feature 96 new private rooms with private baths, making Little Company of Mary the only acute care hospital in Southwest Chicagoland with all private rooms and private baths. The West Pavilion will also be home to a new comprehensive women's health center, the Women's Center for Life and Health.
