Greetings from the Foundation of Little Company of Mary Hospital!
I am so pleased to introduce myself to you as the new Executive Director of the Foundation and to share with you the following pages highlighting many of the events that have propelled the Foundation’s work throughout the past 18 months.
Under the executive leadership of Mary Jo May for nearly twenty years, the Foundation established itself as the bedrock of support for the hospital and those mission-driven, outreach services that impact so many within our community. Now, Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers has launched itself into the future with the Campus Transformation Project and the Foundation is leading the charge! I cannot think of a more exciting time to join an organization. Every day I am surrounded by the construction activity that heralds the new West Pavilion and all it promises for our patients, medical and professional staffs and our community. We are more than two-thirds of the way to our $12.5 million goal, and the enthusiasm continues to build as we prepare to move into the second and final phase of
Values.Vision.Innovation: The Campaign for Little Company of Mary Hospital in the fall of 2011.
One of the many facets that drew me to serve in this Foundation role was the mission of the hospital, as guided by the Little Company of Mary Sisters, and the Sisters’ commitment to the ministry of health care. With a spirituality rooted in the prayerful support of the sick and the dying, the Sisters strive to uphold and enhance the sacredness of all life and human dignity through their ministry. This commitment is truly a unique hallmark of the comprehensive care one receives at Little Company of Mary. As I walk the corridors or visit one of our many community locations, talk to the staff and watch as they interact with patients, the heart of their ministry is self-evident. This family of Little Company of Mary truly embraces the totality of the Paschal Mystery–that lens of faith through which we find abundant life in all of its cycles.
I hope to meet you soon and hear your stories of what makes Little Company of Mary such a special place for you and the ones you love. I thank you, our stakeholders and partners in philanthropy, for your unwavering support of the Little Company of Mary mission and values. The stories and pictures in these pages are a testament to your commitment. And, I look forward to serving with you as part of the Greater Company of Mary as we take our shared ministry of health care beyond our walls to transform our community in the years to come.
With thanks and gratitude,
Brian T. Lepacek, MDiv Executive Director
