A new ‘Doctor Knocker’ design has been introduced to the Carlisle Brass range of Victorian-style interior and exterior door fittings. Doctor Knockers were popular in Victorian times and were reputed to have been used to identify easily doctors’ doors in order to generate custom. The new knocker complements the other door furniture including letter plates, bell pushes, door knobs and other highly crafted architectural ironmongery products.
Supplied in two parts the knocker and strike plate come complete with screw covers for the inside of the door. It is manufactured from hot forged brass, to a size of 186mm x 34mm, and comes with a fully compre- hensive 25-year guarantee. Four finishes are available.
ATB Systems
Casement windows in the Taurus Max range of commercial aluminium windows from ATB Systems have passed enhanced security testing to BS7950 by Exova Warringtonapt, making them some of the most secure standard aluminium casement win- dows on the market. The casement window is the most usually specified window in the aluminium industry, but tests to BS7950 mean that the Taurus Max Casement Window has
achieved the highest level of security testing for this type of aluminium window, providing end users with added reassurance. Part of the ATB Secure Products portfolio, the Taurus Max Casement Window is avail- able in both top hung and side hung options.

Window Master (Scotland) Ltd has become the first fabricator in the UK to achieve a successful BS 7950 test result with windows made using the newly-introduced Rehau Geneo profile system. The Glasgow-based fabricator secured its triple-glazed tilt & turn sashes with the well-established Roto NT ‘R’ concealed hardware. The result has been a pass without incident at Chiltern Dynamics.
