Karen Taylor, Rules and Procedures Committee Chair, made a motion for final consideration of the Standing Rules on pages B34-B47. MOTION PASSED.


Betsy Vicente, Nominations Committee Chair, made a motion for final consideration of the Nominations Report on pages B3-B6 plus Addendum. MOTION PASSED.


Beverly Boehmer, Youth and Young Adult Ministries Coordinator, and Lee Walz, Camping and Retreat Ministries Director, reported on efforts for continued personal growth aſter participants leave camps and return to home churches. Safe Sanctuaries and American Camping Association are the standards that Missouri Conference camps will achieve since the state of Missouri has no standards for camping and retreat centers.


Liz Hinz, MC2 College Connection Leader, reported on past and upcoming events.


Tis included a fall float trip, February retreat and mission trips to New Orleans. Participation in the program has doubled from last year. Next year’s theme is “Love God, Love Others” to focus on building community.


Ben Priday, Conference Council on Youth Ministry Missions Committee Chair, reported on confirmation retreats, mission trips and Youth Service Fund events. Last January over 2,000 youth participated in WOW.


Jon Spalding was given a point of personal privilege to announce that Kingsway UMC is tithing on its capital campaign to Pathways Partners and challenges others to do the same.

Bishop Schnase opened the Learning Time at 8 a.m. with the presentation, “Toward a Mission-Driven Appointment System.” He explained that during the clergy appointment process the mission comes first so that outward-focused, mission- driven congregations are developed.


Bishop Schnase opened the Business Session at 9 a.m. by introducing Myron McCoy, Saint Paul School of Teology President, to lead the morning prayer and give the seminary report. Myron McCoy thanked the conference for giving to the Ministerial Education Fund. He invited everyone to visit the school website or to become a Facebook friend.


Franklin Walker, Creative Ministries Team Chair, presented the Cooperative School of Christian Mission video.
