EASY OWNERSHIP
Owning a swimming pool these days is a breeze. Technology has produced some sensational labour savings and energy efficient products which make the day to day running of a pool simple, hassle free and enjoyable
S
wimming pools are wonderful home additions, providing masses of fun for all the family. They are also increasingly easy to run and owning a pool is nothing like the chore many might think. Modern pools and products are now
environmentally friendly and energy saving from top to bottom. Both new and existing pools will conserve energy and save money by using the Thermapool insulation system which is recognised by Ofgem, under the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) 2008-2011. At this present time Thermapool is the only pool insulation product within the CERT scheme, allowing its customers to claim grants of up to £3,500. The system can be used on any pool finish and is equally efficient on in-ground or above-ground pools.
Keep it covered! Taking things from the top, a pool cover is not just an addition but vital for any pool in order to conserve heat energy, preserve chemical use and stop insects, leaves and other airborne debris from entering the pool. As much as 87% of the heat will
be lost through an uncovered pool. So, when not in use, keep it covered! The cover can be as simple as a standard bubble cover with a roller placed at one end to allow movement of the cover to and from the surface of the pool. Another option is the energy saving Sol+Guard cover which is infused with weather and chemical resistant pigments to reduce algae growth, and chemical consumption. The cover roller can even be automated by solar means for ease of operation.
The impressive, but invisible pool cover! A truly innovative pool cover is the impressive and invisible Heatsavr which is a bio-degradable liquid, which forms a transparent monomolecular layer over the surface of a swimming pool whenever it is calm. This layer significantly reduces evaporation, which not only saves on water heating but with indoor pools can reduce the cost of humidity control and air heating requirements. An automatic dosing system ensures that the correct dose of Heatsavr is added to the pool at the same time each day.
