n your career, which are the roles that you’ve undertaken that have provided experience that have been of use to you in your role as Chief Executive?


I have been fortunate in my civil service career to have undertaken a wide variety of roles, from

setting up new bodies such as the London Docklands Development Corporation and running three major privatisation programmes to working as the director for business tax at the Inland Revenue and being responsible for local government finance at the then Department of the Environment – all useful experience when setting up and now running a new body like the Commission.
