Opening an Outdoor Casinò Facility The new open-air structure, with futuristic
architecture, will be opened next to Europe’s largest gaming and entertainment centre – Perla – at the end of June 2011. The facility will operate 24/7 and be connected to Perla, Casinò & Hotel by a covered entrance with an adjoining bar area. In addition to the 60 slot machines, customers will
be able to smoke within this area “thanks to a conscious design which takes fully into account the current anti-smoking legislation,” noted Costantini. “The new area will expand and complete the tourist offer proposed by Hit Group and more specifically the Perla, Casinò & Hotel, which represents the maximum expression of the Hit format of gaming and entertainment: where under the same roof you can find a casino with green tables and slots, gourmet restaurants, shows, concerts and events for all players, and additional services such as hotel conference rooms and wellness centres,” continued Costantini.
Developing a System of Co-generation for Perla, Casinò & Hotel In the context of the many activities that have
already increased its cost-efficiency, Hit professionals created (with the help of external collaborators) a cogeneration project (cogeneration is the simultaneous provision of both electricity and heat from the same source). The system will become effective in November 2011 and should have an additional and significant impact on energy savings. The cogeneration itself is an environmentally-focused project that will have a direct influence on energy supply to Perla, Hit’s largest consumer of heat.
Gaming Law Changes in Slovenia One major threat – or opportunity, depending on
whether you are a ‘glass half empty’ or ‘glass half full’ person – is the proposals before the Slovenian government to change the country’s gaming laws. “The Hit Administration and professional staff

Enlargement of the Slovenian gaming market and gaining new customers from distant markets is associated with high costs, which should be controlled with lower tax burdens. For the Hit company - the largest gaming and entertainment provider of tourism in Slovenia - it is necessary to establish as soon as possible the categorization of the various providers of gambling and to adjust the tax burden,” commented Drago Podobnik, PhD. With Italy (second license round), Austria and
Greece on its doorstep, the Hit Group could very well be positioned to become a regional powerhouse. And, more importantly for its customers, the creation of a multi-property gaming and entertainment powerhouse that could see the Hit Group replicate the strategies of, say, Genting? I would advise that you turn your eyes to Slovenia and its environs as there is a lot of upside facing the Hit Group.
