The Saskatoon area has been inhabited for some 6,000 years. Come experience Saskatoon’s culturally rich history and delight in the stories of its people. Walk through history at the Saskatoon Branch of the Western Development Museum. History comes alive as you are transported through 100 years of pioneer history and a life-size replica of 1910 Boomtown. Rich, colourful, cultural heritage on the prairies is displayed at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada; one of Canada’s most foremost cultural heritage museums. Take an invigo- rating and awe-inspiring journey through Wanuskewin Heritage Park, where 6,000 years of Northern Plains Aboriginal History is celebrated. Located on the University of Saskatchewan Campus, the Diefenbaker Canada Centre is a museum, archives and research centre dedicated to Canadian citizenship, leadership and Canada’s role in the international commu- nity. Drop in to Souleio Foods downtown for a hearty meal. Breakfast, lunch or supper - their meals are a taste of home with an urban fl air. Many of the products they carry come from small, local family farms or businesses. This summer, the Marr Residence will proudly tell the story of those present in 1885. Tune in to a diverse world of music at the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Fest running from June 25- July 4. Saska- toon’s annual “fl avour-ite event” featuring thirty of the city’s favourite restaurants and over fi fty-fi ve Saskatchewan performers is A Taste of Saskatchewan on July 20-25. The Saskatoon Fringe Theatre Festival is a ten-day thrill ride through incredible theatre acts and performers from around the world (July 29 – August 7). Last year’s inaugural NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (August 4) event was sold out – and it’s easy to understand why with 250 laps of on-the-edge-of-your-seat action! Celebrate the end of summer with two unique and astonishing fi reworks shows orchestrating to music. Entertainment, games, food and fun will be at the Saskatoon Fireworks Festival on September 3 – 4.
