All the lighting fittings included in this catalogue were designed and manufactured in compliance with European Standards EN 60598-1, which comply with international Standards IEC 598-1. The products are ENEC- or IMQ- approved and bear the EC Mark. The EC Mark shows that the product complies with and meets the applicable EC Directives and entitles the product to be freely marketed in all the Member States of the European Community.
The Mark sets out the penalties and responsibilities resting with the producers and sellers that market EC-marked products not compliant with the requirements provided for in the relevant Directives. The lighting fittings are required to meet the following Directives: EC 89/336/EEC on “electromagnetic compatibility” and EC 72/23/EEC on “low-voltage electrical material”
Classification of fittings
Classification of fittings according to the electrical protection.
Class 0 with functional insulation, but without double reinforced insulation in every part and without earth connections.
Class I
with functional insulation in every part and with earth terminal or clamp if the unit is fixed, or with electric power supply cable complete with earth wires and relative plug with earth contact if the unit is mobile.
M M Class II
with double insulation and/or reinforced insulation in every part and without earth connections.
Class III designed for connecting to low voltage circuits, without any internal or external circuit functioning at a voltage different from safety low voltage.
Classification of fittings according to the inflammability of the surfaces used for installation.
The fitting can be installed on normally flammable surfaces.
The fitting can be installed on normally flammable surfaces with thermally insulated ceilings.
The fitting cannnot be installed on normally flammable surfaces.
