The Second House is also a House related to love and affection and this can be related to the emotional upheaval and release of long repressed emotional qualities of the Egyptian people.


I think the depth and intensity of this emotional trans- formation is evidenced by some of the statements I found in a letter sent by an Egyptian student named Tantawi to a former teacher of hers, in an effort to share some of the reality of the feelings and sentiments of the protestors.


The teacher volunteered to not use her real name and her reply was to please use her name and use the entire letter because “the seal of fear is broken.” This is Pluto at work.


Nonetheless she speaks of feeling at times in a ‘vacuum of fear’ as the Egyptians had to witness the propaganda portrayed on Egyptian media, and even the distortions based on fear in the international media.


When commentators blamed the uprising on economic factors her reply is:


This revolution is not about poverty or need. The peo- ple in the streets from all walks of life, rich and poor are there because they want freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom...


Additionally:


“The absence of a person or a group of persons as a recognizable leadership group or figures is intentional. The intellectual young people who started all this are actually leading by spreading awareness among the people in the square rather than by giving orders, and this is making the pressure of the street crowds even more forceful, simply because it is the people rather than this or that specific name who [are] reacting and deciding...” *


This kind of a social movement truly represents a revo- lutionary death/rebirth of the emotional heart and soul


of Egypt.


I did a short Tarot Reading for Egypt during the crisis and the card in the position of what can help her was: The Sun, a card corresponding to the Sun and repre- senting an initiation into the light, with total faith and trust and innocence. I relate it to the Bible passage: Lest ye can become as a child ye cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven.


I would say to a client with such a card in that position, and say now to my Egyptian brothers and sisters, that that Sun initiation into faith and trust wouldn’t be there if you didn’t have the ability to do it.
