This is what we all (men and women alike) desire, but is sometimes difficult to obtain. If everything we con- sciously desired came to us, we would all be perfect. Therefore, there must be something over riding our conscious desires. This dastardly enemy can be and is in many cases is our best friend. It runs our bodies 24/7 making our heart beat at the right time, our intestines work properly and our limbs move without our hav- ing to stop and think about it. We don’t even have to think about needing our hands to move while we talk, it seems to just magically happen.
So what is this enemy friend and how do we turn it into all friend? Almost everyone knows that it is our subconscious mind, but saying it like I did allows us to think differently about it. Why and how is it our enemy? First the how: The subconscious mind gives us cravings and carries us to excesses with eating, sitting on the couch and laying around without exercising. It tells us we are hungry when we are not, that we are too tired to exercise and that the most important thing in our lives today is seeing that people on Jerry Springer are worse off than we are or ever will be.
The second question is “Why does the subconscious mind do that? I tell it all the time that I am too fat and out of shape, it should know that’s what I want to change”. Well, it doesn’t. In fact, it thinks that’s what you want because you are constantly focusing on it and how terrible you look and feel. The subconscious mind does not know what’s good or what’s bad, it just gives you more of what you are focusing on. Therefore the answer is to change your thinking!
For some people this is easy. They expect to be slim and they are. The rest of us have these deep seated programs that keep slipping in no matter how hard we try to see ourselves thin and healthy. For us the answer is to short circuit our subconscious mind and re-program it. There are two fabulous tools that can make it much easier than you would think. They are Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP. For those who know how to do both, they are an integral part of each other and a fabulous powerful tool for change. Where Hypnotherapy is slow and laborious, NLP is shorter and more to the point. The reason to use both is to use all the tools. Past life Regression is a part of Hypnotherapy while quick reprogramming is a part of NLP. NLP does not care if you call your problems a demon, an attachment or Mrs. Bloomberg your third grade teacher who yelled at you saying that you would never amount to anything. With Past Life Regression you can go to the original root cause of your excess weight and then with NLP you can change the way your subconscious mind works with negative program-

ming, sneakily changing it to give you the outcome you desire.
When you leave the Hypnotherapy NLP coach’s office, there are other tools you can use to reinforce your new subconscious mind programming. One is affirmations. Music with subliminal affirmations may be enjoyed even while driving. Give yourself compliments, but make sure that your conscious mind accepts them so that they can get through to the subconscious mind. Look in the mir- ror and tell your self “I love you”. Treat yourself after exercising, but not with a brownie hot fudge sundae, instead allow yourself a luxurious bath with some great relaxing bath salts or give yourself a new pair of pants in a size smaller – even if you need to buy the ones with the elastic waist. The psychology behind wearing this smaller size gets through to the subconscious.
The combination Hypnotherapy NLP can be used to change anything about your life that you are unhappy about. My only caution is to remember that if your friends are around you because you are negatively pro- grammed like the are, as you change the will no longer be able to stay around you, but the good news is that new people who match your new vibration will come in to replace the old lower vibration friends and will reinforce the new you. If you will look back at this article, you will not find mysterious words or a claim that you can do it if you work hard enough, because that’s not the way it’s done. Painless, but steady work aimed at focusing on the new you brings success. Can you see a new you? It’s the body you dream about having and what the conscious mind can conceive, the subconscious mind must pro- duce. That’s the way it works.
